Guitar One Magazine Review (June 2000 issue) Looking for a quality rock guitar instructional video? Check out Paul Lidel's series of videos from Musicians Workshop. Lidel has played guitar with “Dangerous Toys” & “Dirty Looks”, & is a faculty member of the National Guitar Workshop, Austin Guitar School, & the University of Texas. In “Beginning Rock Guitar: The Fun Approach”, Paul gives beginning guitar students what they really want - the "how to" of playing 19 real rock songs, including "Iron Man," "Heart Shaped Box," & "Bulls On Parade." Then, when you're feeling pretty confident with your newfound abilities, you can move up to “Learn To Play Rippin' Lead Guitar”, in which Lidel takes you through an in-depth lesson on common scales, licks, tricks, & phrasing skills. The video features split screen close-ups & on screen tab so you won't miss a lick (or trick). Michael Mueller Guitar One Magazine, June 2000
AMAZON.COM REVIEW A great place to start, September 21, 2002 Reviewer: Joe Crescenzi from Staten Island, NY USA . Since buying my first guitar a couple of months ago, I've bought about 20 DVD lessons. As the title suggests, this DVD truly is a FUN approach. The lessons themself are nothing special, very serious and straightforward, but the results are nothing short of amazing. In the DVD you learn to play about 20 COOL guitar riffs. The first time you crank out the intro to the Rolling Stone's "Satisfaction" in front of your friends and family, they will look around to see if you're actually playing it yourself. It's a great feeling, and a great confidence builder for beginners like me.

"As far as I know, I am not aware of any other book like 66 Hot Rock Licks. I have a ton of How to guitar books. I think this book is extremely easy to read (something novel in a guitar book), well thought out, & not terribly difficult to pick up. All in all, I would say that this is a winner." --Jason Moore, Austin, Tx.
